How much does a security system cost?

There are many factors that affect the price of a security system. Included are the house size, number of windows and doors, and many other factors. Prices will vary from house to house. To get an estimate on the cost of installing a security system in your home, call us at (732) 536-1900.

What is a Security System?

A security system consists of a control panel which functions as a central computer, receiving messages form a number of sensors that act as the "eyes" and "ears" of the system. If the system is "armed" and a signal is received by the panel it automatically dials a Central Monitoring Station via a built-in telephone communicator. The station operator than alerts the appropriate authorities.

What generally makes up a security system?

Generally included in a security system are:

  • Keypads located near common entry doors, allowing you  to control the system
  • Magnetic contact to protect doors and windows that open
  • Glassbreak sensors to protect windows and glass doors
  • Motion sensors to detect movement within a defined area
  • Panic switches that can be manually operated
  • Sirens and sounders to sound an alarm in your home
  • Smoke detectors to detect smoke and fire
  • A control panel that operates the entire system

How does  monitored security work?

(1) When your security system is activated, emergency signal is transmitted. (2) Your system sends that signal to the central station via Monital's redundant 800 toll free network, the most reliable network ever. (3) Monital's computer system automatically determines the nature of your emergency and displays this data to a highly trained central station operator. (4) Monital's operators call your premises. If there is no answer or the correct passcode cannot be given, the proper authorities are immediately dispatched. (5) The time and date of your emergency, and an exact sequence of actions taken by your Monital operator is recorded, and this information is transmitted to your alarm dealer.
